Square Enix announces details of the Yuffie chapter in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade.

Back in February, Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, an expanded and upgraded version of action role-playing game Final Fantasy VII Remake, would be launching exclusively for PlayStation 5 with a worldwide release on 10th June.

Now the publisher has revealed further details on the upcoming Yuffie Kisaragi chapter – titled FF7R EPISODE INTERmission – which will be released alongside the main game. In this new episode, Yuffie utilises her short- and long-range attacks as the Wutai ninja conspires with Avalanche HQ in order to infiltrate the Shinra Electric Power Company and steal the corporation’s powerful materia.

A couple of Yuffie’s abilities include Banishment – an attack that inflicts more damage based on the amount of Active Time Battle (ATB) that was spent beforehand – and Windstorm – a gust of wind that damages nearby enemies and propels them towards her.

The story of FF7R EPISODE INTERmission centres around Yuffie and fellow ninja Sonon; additional characters that will be introduced in this chapter include Wutai native Zhijie – who acts as the liaison between the Wutai government and Avalanche HQ; Weiss of the top-secret, military research centre Deepground; and members within Avalanche HQ such as Nayo, Billy Bob, and Polk.

Square Enix has also announced the English voice cast of the aforementioned characters:

Owners of Final Fantasy VII Remake on PlayStation 4 and a PlayStation 5 console will be able to download the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade enhancement upgrade for free. The FF7R EPISODE INTERmission episode will be available as a standalone purchase.
