Laced Records has announced the standard and limited editions of both soundtracks.
Music label Laced Records has announced that the jazz-funk soundtracks to the 1995 arcade fighting game Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors’ Dreams and its 1996 sequel Street Fighter Alpha 2 will both be getting a double-vinyl release with pre-orders available now.
The soundtrack to Street Fighter Alpha: Warriors’ Dreams – composed by Isao Abe (X-Men: Children of the Atom and Auto Modellista), Syun Nishigaki (19XX: The War Against Destiny and Resident Evil 2), Setsuo Yamamoto (Disney’s Aladdin and Project Justice), Yuko Takehara (X-Men vs. Street Fighter and The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition), Naoaki Iwami (Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness), Naoshi Mizuta (Parasite Eve II and Final Fantasy Dimensions II), Hiroaki Kondo, and Ryoji Yamamoto – is pressed on two 180g vinyl discs; the standard edition is pressed on black vinyl whereas the limited edition is pressed on red ‘galaxy effect’ coloured discs.
The double-vinyl album comprises 38 tracks of music with one side containing a collection of sound effects.
The Street Fighter Alpha 2 soundtrack, composed by the aforementioned Nishigaki, Yamamoto, and Tatsuro Suzuki (Marvel Super Heroes and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo), is also pressed on two 180g vinyl discs – the standard edition on black vinyl and the limited edition on blue ‘galaxy effect’ coloured discs. This 2xLP soundtrack comprises 47 tracks of music.
Both soundtrack albums feature artwork by comic book illustrator Andie Tong and can now be pre-ordered from the Laced Records online store with shipping in September (the limited editions are exclusive to Laced Records).
