Pre-orders available now from Laced Records.
The jazzy soundtrack to the 2020 first-person shooter XIII is getting released on vinyl and pre-orders are available now.
This new iteration of the game is a remake of the original XIII which was released in 2003, a game inspired by a Belgian comic book series of the same name.
The soundtrack to XIII, composed by multi-instrumentalist Lionel Gaget (Planet of the Apes), is pressed on a 180g black and white vinyl disc and comprises 11 tracks of music, some of which were featured in the original game.
Pre-orders for the XIII soundtrack vinyl can be placed via the Laced Records online store with shipping in September.
The full 12-track soundtrack is already available from major digital platforms including Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, iTunes, Spotify, YouTube, and YouTube Music.
Gaget felt inspired by the game’s theme of espionage and explained: “The music is interactive, so I had to deliver music with various levels of intensity. There are calm moments when the player is strolling around. Then, there are intense action scenes and also intense fighting.”
XIII is developed by PlayMagic and published by Microids for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows. The game is also scheduled for a 2021 release on Nintendo Switch.
