The descriptions below are taken from this week’s release notes:
John Denver’s “Take Me Home, Country Roads” is a song we’re sure you’re all familiar with. The iconic, and critically acclaimed track was a single released in April of 1971. It peaked at #2 on the Billboard US Hot 100 Singles chart – reaching certified Gold by the RIAA in 1971 and Platinum very recently in 2017. The song gives much love to the state of West Virginia and has since become one of four official state anthems. Grab the mic, feel the music, and sing along with Denver when it releases as Rock Band 4 DLC tomorrow.
Did you know that Redbone’s “Come And Get Your Love” was originally released under the name “Hail”? Officially, the song as we know it now was released on Redbone’s 5th album, Wovoka. The song peaked at #5 in 1974 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. “Come And Get Your Love” soared back to the top of the Billboard 200 chart after its inclusion in the Marvel Studios film Guardians of the Galaxy. Rock Band players who love funky basslines, this one’s for you.
