A festive album featuring label artists and collaborators.

Scarlet Moon Records has released the fifth instalment in its festive music series, featuring label artists and contributors putting a seasonal spin on video game themes and vice versa along with an original track to close out the album.

Scarlet Moon Christmas, Vol. V is an eight-track album featuring Evening Star audio director Hunter Bridges (Scarlet Moon Christmas, Vol. III and VERSUS), electronic music producer bLiNd (MATERIA: Final Fantasy VII Remixed and FALLEN: An Undertale Tribute), mojera (electronic music duo comprising Square Enix composer Mitsuto Suzuki and guitarist and vocalist non), and TV and film composer Gene Micofsky (Spades and Abnormal Attraction).

Other musicians on the album include The Altered Beasts and The OneUps band member Mustin (Scarlet Moon Christmas, Vol. IV and The World is Square), film composer and video game remixer Justin Lassen (Scarlet Moon Christmas and Scarlet Moon Christmas, Vol. IV), and long-time composer for the Beatmania IIDX rhythm series Osamu Kubota (Genesis of Destiny and Scarlet Moon Christmas, Vol. II).

The closing track is an original by synthwave project VECTORDRIVE – led by video game arranger Tim Sheehy – and features guitarist Ryan Postlethwait and Sheehy on synthesiser.

“We love putting together these Christmas compilations, and it’s great that so many of our artists and friends are also big fans of Christmas music,” said album producer Jayson Napolitano. “We’re really excited to have Gene Micofsky and mojera contribute to the series for the first time. We’ve known Mitsuto Suzuki of mojera for some years and know he’s a huge Christmas music fan, so it was exciting to have them on board.”

Scarlet Moon Christmas, Vol. V is available for purchase from Bandcamp and iTunes; the album can also be streamed from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, TIDAL, and YouTube Music.

“I think fans will also enjoy an original Christmas track by VECTORDRIVE and Ryan Postlethwait, ‘Sunset on the Drift’ along with the rest of this year’s offerings!” Napolitano said.

The full tracklisting and album credits can be found on the Materia Collective product page.
