Hear from George Takei, Will Yun Lee, Andrew Morgado, Kaiji Tang, Greg Chun, and Elizabeth Maxwell.

Following the recent release of role-playing game Yakuza: Like a Dragon, publisher SEGA has uploaded a behind-the-scenes video (embedded below) featuring members of the voice cast as they talk about the various themes that are explored in the game.

“The essential story of Yakuza: Like a Dragon is humanity coming in conflict with a hard and fast code of loyalty,” George Takei said.

Greg Chun spoke about the balance between the game’s dramatic moments and its tongue-in-cheek humour, saying: “To be able to walk that line between serious drama, high stakes, and then just absurd moments of silliness is something that keeps a game engaging.”

“There’s some real serious themes of redemption, of finding your place, finding where you feel like you belong in a crazy world that sometimes feels like you don’t belong anywhere,” Elizabeth Maxwell said.

The video also includes various insights of the other voice cast members including Will Yun Lee, Andrew Morgado, and Kaiji Tang as they talk about narrative concepts, the intrinsic principles of the in-game families, and the game’s stylistic combat sequences.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. The game will also be released on 2nd March, 2021 for PlayStation 5.
