Album will be available digitally and on two physical formats: CD and vinyl. A limited-edition music box and piano score books are also available for medium to high-level pledges.

Wayô Records’ latest crowdfunding project has already reached full funding on the Kickstarter platform.

Across the Worlds is an arrangement album that pays tribute to Yasunori Mitsuda‘s soundtrack to Chrono Cross and coincides with the 20th anniversary of the Square-developed role-playing game.

The album comprises piano arrangements by Mariam Abounnasr (a member of Mitsuda’s sound team Procyon Studio and composer of action role-playing game Oninaki), Akio Noguchi (of Indivisible and Xenoblade Chronicles 2), and Masashi Hamauzu (composer of numerous Final Fantasy titles including Final Fantasy XIII and the 1997 roguelike game Chocobo’s Mysterious Dungeon).

Across the Worlds also features performances by pianist and composer Benyamin Nuss (of A New World: intimate music from FINAL FANTASY Volume II and Noriyuki Iwadare tribute album Twelve Doors).

The 15-track album (if stretch goals are met, there will be an additional two bonus tracks) will be available digitally and on CD and vinyl.

The CD edition will be produced on a picture disc and come with a booklet and heavyweight slipcase. The vinyl edition will be pressed on two 180g translucent blue vinyl discs with individual sleeves and will also come with a booklet.

Album art for the CD and vinyl variants will feature “Home World” and “Another World” original illustrations, respectively, by concept artist Kiyoshi Arai (of Final Fantasy XII, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and NightCry).

Backers of the Across the Worlds campaign can also get a wooden music box which is limited to 315 units. It plays “Radical Dreamers” in two parts (60 seconds which loops for approximately 10 rounds).

A piano score book is also available and includes actual scores of every track on the album. The softcover book will be hand-signed by the album arrangers, pianist, and designer.

For backers pledging higher amounts, they will also be getting the Sailing to the World piano score book which is usually only available in Japan. The 56-page softcover book comprises 10 piano arrangements by Masashi Hamauzu and comes with a CD with all the arrangements performed by Naoko Endo (of Final Fantasy X HD Remaster).

Items are scheduled to begin shipping in December.
