Votes open for Golden Joystick Awards 2019; see nominations for ‘Best Audio’

Three new categories are introduced this year.

The 37th Golden Joystick Awards is set to take place this November and voting has begun across 17 different categories.

The categories for this year include ‘Best Storytelling’, ‘Best Multiplayer Game’, ‘Best Game Expansion’, ‘Best Visual Design’, ‘Best Indie Game’, ‘Best Audio’, ‘Still Playing’, ‘Best Gaming Hardware’, eSports Game of the Year’, ‘Best VR/AR Game’, ‘Studio of the Year’, ‘Mobile Game of the Year’, ‘PC Game of the Year’, ‘PlayStation Game of the Year’, ‘Xbox Game of the Year’, ‘Nintendo Game of the Year’, and ‘Most Wanted Game’.

‘Best Game Expansion’, ‘Best Gaming Hardware’, and ‘Best Multiplayer Game’ are new categories that are being introduced at this year’s awards.

The nominations for the ‘Best Audio’ award are:

  Developed by Asobo Studio and published by Focus Home Interactive
• Tetris Effect
  Developed by Monstars and Resonair, and published by Enhance Games
• Control
  Developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games
• Outer Wilds
  Developed by Mobius Digital and published by Annapurna Interactive
• The Light Keeps Us Safe
  Developed and published by Big Robot
• Resident Evil 2 (2019)
  Developed and published by Capcom

Golden Joystick Awards 2019 will be taking place on 15th November at Bloomsbury Big Top in London.

The event will be hosted by comedian and actor Danny Wallace, who you may know as the voice of Assassin’s Creed character Shaun Hastings.
