Music from the first four titles in the Hitman series.
For the past three years, production company iam8bit has been collaborating with developer IO Interactive to bring the soundtracks to the first four Hitman games together in a limited edition vinyl release.
Hitman: The Critical Collection features the music from Hitman: Codename 47, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Hitman: Contracts, and Hitman: Blood Money. The tracklist is hand-picked by award-winning composer Jesper Kyd.
“My work on the Hitman series really allowed me the opportunity to figure out how to get under the gamer’s skin and inside their head,” said Kyd via a press release. “This is what I tried to achieve with the Hitman scores; they were very ambitious scores, brimming with epic ideas and a truly interior mindset for the main character. I wanted the music to sound like it could only belong in the Hitman universe.”

This is the first time all four soundtracks have been mastered and pressed on vinyl.
The composer added: “The musical evolution between Hitman: Codename 47 and Hitman: Blood Moneyis extremely vast, though they exist in the same world… My music evolved with each game and so the music of Hitman is also a personal journey and part of my evolution as a composer. I hope you enjoy these scores as much as I did creating them. Thank you for listening.”
Priced at $100 and limited to 2,000 copies, this 4xLP vinyl collection features coloured records that come in grey, white, red, and black. The quad-fold album cover features artwork by Drew Wise.
This special release includes a full digital download plus bonus tracks that aren’t on vinyl.
Pre-orders for Hitman: The Critical Collection will be available from the iam8bit website from 6th June (6pm BST). Shipping is expected in Q4 2019.
