Publisher Square Enix has revealed additional details regarding its upcoming third-person, action role-playing game NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139…

The game is a contemporary reimagining of the original NieR Replicant which released back in 2010 only in Japan for PlayStation 3; the game also serves as the prequel to 2017’s NieR: Automata.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… features remastered visuals, a rerecorded soundtrack, and new voice acting. The game also contains a new Mermaid episode featuring a wrecked ship and young girl, in which players can experience a new story scenario and boss battle.

The game includes a series of dungeons in which players can unlock weapons as well as the kabuki and samurai costumes. The dungeons were previously released as downloadable content for the original NieR Replicant and is similar to The World of Recycled Vessel add-on for NieR (known as NieR Gestalt in Japan). After unlocking either of the costumes, players will be able to alter the appearance of enemy bullets by adding in-game character Emil’s face to them.

After finishing the game, players will unlock the option to switch to select tracks of background music from NieR: Automata. NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… also features the Japanese and English voice actors for 2B and 9S.

Players will also be able to download the 4 YoRHa costume pack for free when the game launches later this week; this pack contains 9S, 2B, and A2 weapon and costume designs from NieR: Automata.

Pre-order bonuses include a collection of wallpapers on Windows (via Steam) and a set of avatars and a dynamic theme on PlayStation 4; PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam pre-orders all come with a digital mini soundtrack (users on Xbox One can only play the music via the in-game app).

As was announced last September, the White Snow Edition of the game comes with a Grimoire pin set, a script set containing seven books of dialogue packaged in a hard case featuring artwork by character designer Akihiko Yoshida, a 2-CD soundtrack of newly edited and arranged music, steelbook case featuring artwork by illustrator Koda Kazuma, and a Lunar Tear collector’s box.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… will be released on 23rd April for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
