The multi-genre soundtrack will also feature a track by rapper Mega Ran.
Developers Pie for Breakfast Studios and Pixlplz have announced that the soundtrack to upcoming 2D non-linear platformer Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends will be scored by composer and orchestrator Wayne Strange and feature rapper Mega Ran.
The game is being crowdfunded via a Kickstarter campaign and is currently over halfway of its $70,000 goal.
The artwork in Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends is inspired by the 1905 comic strip Little Nemo in Slumberland by Windsor McCay. Environments are hand-drawn with a surreal art style.
Players switch between four main characters – Nemo, Peony, The Princess, and Flip – as they utilise each of their unique abilities to explore the game’s fantastic locales and discover Slumberland’s secrets.
Strange (composer of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night tribute albums including Resurrection of the Night and Resurrection of the Night: Alucard’s Elergy) will be composing the soundtrack to Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends, which will include a track by Mega Ran.
The game will feature a multi-genre soundtrack, “lending the game a lucid dream-like quality,” says the press release. Those who back the Kickstarter campaign can pre-order the soundtrack digitally and on CD.
Little Nemo and the Nightmare Fiends is scheduled for release in 2022 for Nintendo Switch and Steam.
