The soundtrack to role-playing game YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is releasing on coloured vinyl.
YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is set in the late ’90s and sees players taking on the role of Alex, a college graduate, who witnesses a woman vanish from a lift without explanation. Alex takes it upon himself to enlist the help of his Internet friends in order to investigate this mysterious disappearance.
The soundtrack, composed by the game’s co-director Andrew Allanson, is pressed on ‘Mind Dungeon’ neon pink splatter coloured vinyl which comprises 16 select tracks of music. Other composers featured on the soundtrack include Calum Bowen (Crossy Road Castle and Voyage), Michael “Garoad” Kelly (VA-11 HALL-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action and Yuppie Psycho), Baiyon (PixelJunk Eden and PixelJunk Eden 2), Ken “coda” Snyder (Alter Ego: DreamWalker and Horizon Vanguard), and Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana and Indivisible).
This vinyl release features album artwork by illustration studio Ilustrata; this is a limited release with only 300 copies available.
The YIIK: A Postmodern RPG soundtrack vinyl is available now from the Yetee Records online store and orders include the full digital soundtrack.
Black Screen Records is stocking this release as a distributed title; the music label has an exclusive colourway of this soundtrack on light blue and black splatter vinyl. Pre-orders are available now from the Black Screen Records online store with the shipping date to be determined.
