Street Lo-Fighter available now from Bandcamp.
Audio artist and Plastic Fern Studios director Jay Fernandes has released a lo-fi hip-hop, Street Fighter arrangement album that reinterprets various character themes from Capcom’s fighting series.
Street Lo-Fighter comprises 13 tracks of chilled beats with reverberated guitars and is available now to purchase and stream from Bandcamp; the album features artwork by graphic designer and illustrator Rachel Tiu.
This release predominantly contains covers of Street Fighter II: The World Warrior themes including those of characters such as Ryu, Ken, Balrog, Guile, Chun-Li, Blanka, Vega, and the character select screen.
Character themes from other games in the Street Fighter series include Cammy’s in Super Street Fighter II: Turbo, Adon’s and Sakura’s in Street Fighter Alpha 2 and Street Fighter IV, Karin’s in Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Alex’s in Street Fighter III: Third Strike.
“This album is my love letter to Street Fighter (and arcades) and to watching legends like [Daigo Umehara] play since I was a kid,” Fernandes tweeted.
Fernandes’ discography includes covers of “Empty Town” from Deltarune and “Asgore” from Undertale as well as various concept albums across different musical genres.
