Both vinyl releases are available in limited numbers.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the SteamWorld series, publisher Thunderful Publishing is putting out a couple of vinyl releases: a 7″ single and a 2xLP soundtrack.
SteamWorld games are set in a post-apocalyptic world and follow the adventures of steam-powered robots; genres range from tower defense and role-playing games to deck-building and platformers.
Two tracks from the SteamWorld Tower Defense soundtrack, originally composed by Allister Brimble and Anthony Putson, have been reimagined by Pelle Cahndlerby of Digital Dreams Wrapped In Plastic.
The StreamWorld Tower Defense: Reimagined 7″ single contains the tracks “20/20 Sentry” and “Game ON” pressed on a purple vinyl disc with only 250 copies available.
The orchestral soundtrack to SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech, composed by Erik Gudmundson, Pelle Cahndlerby, and Oscar Rydelius, is also getting released on vinyl and will be pressed on two 180g transparent green vinyl discs.
The soundtrack features performances by Agnes Högberg on violin, Anna-Maria Lundberg on vocals, Kurt Areskoug on guitar, and Per Gudmundson on fiddle.
This double-vinyl album includes a digital download of the soundtrack and is limited to 200 standalone copies. Another 500 copies of this 2xLP release are available as part of the collector’s edition of SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech.
