Through a partnership between developer Treasure and music label Data Discs, the soundtrack to the 2001 arcade shoot ’em up Ikaruga is getting released on vinyl.

The electronic soundtrack, composed by the game’s director Hiroshi Iuchi, is pressed on a 180g vinyl disc and will be released in three variants: ‘Classic Black’, ‘Slime Green’, and a limited edition ‘Clear with Black & White Splatter’.

This vinyl release comprises 10 tracks of music and also comes with four lithographic prints featuring illustrations by Yasushi Suzuki and an obi strip.

“Ideal” and “Metempsychosis” have been uploaded to Data Discs’ SoundCloud page as a couple of preview tracks.

Pre-orders for the Ikaruga soundtrack LP will be available from the Data Discs online store from 19:00 BST on 24th October; orders are expected to ship by 20th November.
