Music label Scarlet Moon Records has released the soundtrack to rogue-lite, action role-playing game Dreamscaper, making it widely available across digital platforms.

Dreamscaper features gameplay elements from various genres including brawlers, top-down shooters, and dungeon crawlers. Players take on the role of Cassidy as they explore her subconscious by eliminating the enemies and bosses that have invaded her dreams.

“From the very minute the team at Afterburner Studios finished describing Cassidy’s backstory, their goals, and their desires for the soundtrack, I had an image for the soundtrack in mind,” said composer Dale North via a press release.

North, who also scored the soundtracks to The Long Return, Sparklite, and Wizard of Legend, added: “The pacing of Dreamscaper is unlike anything else I’ve ever played and setting that to music that felt right, and that conveyed the full range of emotion that Cassidy experiences in this story, has been a continual challenge.

“Adding to that, I wanted my musical approach to be just as unconventional,” he said. “But something this unique and well-crafted made the challenge feel relatively easy. The incredible environments created by artist Paul Svoboda especially served as direct inspiration for the soundtrack. It just all seemed to snap together.”

The game’s dynamic soundtrack has been released as a 24-track album and is available now to purchase from Bandcamp and iTunes. The soundtrack can also be streamed from Amazon Music, Apple Music, Deezer, Spotify, and TIDAL.

Dreamscaper is developed by Afterburner Studios and is currently available via Early Access on Steam for Windows. The game will also be available for Nintendo Switch sometime this year.
