Catering for the “high-end segment” of gamers.
Danish electronics designer and manufacturer Bang & Olufsen has partnered with Xbox “to establish a new high-end of audio proposition” for the Microsoft gaming brand.
The luxury audio brand announced via a press release that the purpose of this new partnership is “to cater for the high-end segment within gaming” by leveraging its “core capabilities of sound, design and craft”.
It’s unclear what services and/or products will be available for consumers as a result of this collaboration but supported functionalities will be marked “Designed for Xbox” and aim to provide “seamless connectivity and an enhanced user experience”.
“The technology has advanced significantly in gaming, and enhancing the sound experience offers a place for us to play a key role,” said Christoffer Poulsen, Vice President and Head of Product Management at Bang & Olufsen.
“By entering the gaming industry, we want to do do what we do best: delivering outstanding sound performance wrapped in astonishing design and solid craftsmanship. We see a commercial potential within gaming, and in Xbox we believe we have found the ideal partner to realise that potential,” Poulsen added.
Matt Kessering, Head of Hardware Partnerships at Xbox, spoke about the upcoming next generation of hardware and said: “As we march towards [Xbox Series X’s] release – we’re excited to partner with Bang & Olufsen to bring a new premium tier of gaming audio to market for Xbox and Bang & Olufsen fans around the world that travels with you everywhere you love to pay Xbox.”
Both companies will be elaborating on this partnership when new details become available. Xbox Series X is still currently scheduled for release this holiday season.
