Double serving of progressive metal this week.

The downloadable content update for Rock Band 4 this week consists of two songs by a couple of progressive metal bands: one by Between the Buried and Me and the other by Periphery.

The following tracks will be available from 12th March:

  • Between the Buried and Me – “Moredecai”
  • Periphery – “Icarus Lives”

Songs can be purchased individually.

The descriptions below are taken from this week’s release notes:

We’re excited to bring Between the Buried and Me’s “Mordecai” to Rock Band 4. This progressive metal band always packs a punch and brings a challenge to Rock Band players. “Mordecai” hails from their second studio album, The Silent Circus, released in 2003. The entire band is bound to have fun with this one, giving an equal, yet tough and intricate, challenge to each instrument. Craving more Between the Buried and Me? Check out their other songs available in the Rock Band Music Store as well to brush up before “Mordecai” releases on 3/12.

Periphery’s “Icarus Lives” is the eighth track off their debut, self-titled album which dropped in April 2010. The challenge varies on all instruments. “Icarus Lives” features a rad intro hook, melodic vocals, and, of course, some killer riffs.

Rock Band 4 is developed and published by Harmonix for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
