The Game Awards 2019 took place last night in Los Angeles, California and the winners across all categories have been announced. Following the collation of public votes, the award winners have now been unveiled.
First-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare won the ‘Audio Design’ award, eliminating fellow nominees which include action-adventure game Control, action game Death Stranding, third-person shooter Gears 5, survival-horror remake Resident Evil 2, and action-adventure game Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Meanwhile, the ‘Score & Music’ award went to Death Stranding which came out on top in a category that included roguelike rhythm game Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda, hack-and-slash action-adventure game Devil May Cry 5, action role-playing game Kingdom Hearts III, and arcade-style music game Sayonara: Wild Hearts.

Scottish synth-pop band CHVRCHES opened the evening with a live performance of “Death Stranding” (embedded below) – one of the tracks featured on the Death Stranding: Timefall soundtrack album.
American rock band Green Day also performed live with a rendition of “Welcome to Paradise” (embedded below) – a track taken from the band’s third studio album Dookie.
