Public voting open now.
The Game Awards 2019 is set to take place next month and voting is now open to the public.
Nominations and individuals have been revealed across 29 different categories.
Categories at this year’s award show include: “Game of the Year’, ‘Action Game’, ‘Action/Adventure Game’, ‘Art Direction’, ‘Audio Design’, ‘Community Support’, ‘Content Creator of the Year’, ‘Esports Coach’, ‘Esports Event’, ‘Esports Game of the Year’, ‘Esports Host’, Esports Player’, ‘Esports Team’, ‘Family Game’, ‘Fighting Game’, ‘Fresh Indie Game’, ‘Game Direction’, ‘Games for Impact’, ‘Independent Game’, ‘Mobile Game’, ‘Multiplayer Game’, ‘Narrative’, ‘Ongoing Game’, ‘Performance’, ‘Role-Playing Game’, ‘Score & Music’, ‘Sports/Racing Game’, ‘Strategy Game’, and ‘VR/AR Game’.
Nominees in the ‘Audio Design’ category that recognises “the best in-game audio and sound design” include Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision), Control (developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games), Death Stranding (developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment), Gears 5 (developed by The Coalition and published by Xbox Game Studios), Resident Evil 2 (developed and published by Capcom), and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (developed by FromSoftware and published by Activision).
‘Score & Music’, the award “for outstanding music, inclusive of score, original song and/or licensed soundtrack” has nominated the following: Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer Featuring The Legend of Zelda (developed by Brace Yourself Games and published by Nintendo), Death Stranding (developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment), Devil May Cry 5 (developed and published by Capcom), Kingdom Hearts III (developed and published by Square Enix), and Sayonara Wild Hearts (developed by Simogo and published by Annapurna Interactive).
Different voting methods include logging in The Game Awards website using Facebook or Twitter, voting on Google, and for fans wishing to take part in China they can visit the Billibilli website to vote in all the major categories. See here for additional information.
Select categories will also be accepting votes via interaction with the official Twitter account for The Game Awards via direct message.
The Game Awards 2019 will be taking place on Thursday, 12th December in Los Angeles, California. Check here for the various ways to watch the event.
Musical director Lorne Balfe will also be conducting The Game Awards orchestra for the evening and as recently announced, rock band Green Day will also be performing live.
