Poké & Chill is a lo-fi hip-hop album that puts a new spin on classic Pokémon video game music. From early titles in the franchise such as the Junichi Masuda-composed Pokémon Red & Blue to Pokémon Gold & Silver, and later titles such as Pokémon Sun & Moon, Pokémon X & Y, Pokémon Black & White, and Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire, the music from a wide range of entries in the role-playing game series has been reinterpreted with a chill-out vibe.
The album’s produced by Mikel who’s also the producer behind 2018’s Zelda & Chill.
Spread over 16 tracks, Poké & Chill can now be purchased from outlets such as Amazon Music, Google Play, and iTunes. It’s also available to stream from services including Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.
Poké & Chill can also be pre-ordered on a variety of limited edition physical formats directly from GameChops’ Bandcamp page.
A four-panel digipak CD, limited to 500 copies, is expected to ship in the beginning of September.
For the more retro-oriented, the album can also be pre-ordered on cassette tape, of which there are only 100 copies with shipping expected in November.
The 12″ vinyl edition is limited to 1,500 copies and is scheduled to ship this December.
All editions of Poké & Chill feature album art by Bespa, Dj CUTMAN, and Rozen; all formats come with the digital album as well as unlimited streaming on the Bandcamp app.
