Rockstar Games has announced that the original score to its Western-themed action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now to pre-order ahead of its release next month.

Award-winning composer Woody Jackson, who has a long history of scoring major Rockstar Games titles including L.A. Noire, Grand Theft Auto V, and the first Red Dead Redemption, has put together an interactive score for Red Dead Redemption 2 which is scheduled for a digital release on 9th August.

The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Score can be pre-ordered now from iTunes with three tracks available to download once orders have been placed: “Outlaws From The West” by Woody Jackson, “Fleeting Joy” by Colin Stetson, and “Country Pursuits” by Arca and Woody Jackson; all three singles are currently available to stream on Spotify.

“Writing the score for Red Dead Redemption 2 was an incredibly ambitious project and I couldn’t be prouder of the results,” Jackson said. “We were creating a living soundscape for a wildly diverse cross section of 19th century America. After all these years working with so many talented people, I can’t wait to share these songs beyond the world of the game.”

Co-producer Jeff Silverman has also provided additional arrangements for The Music of Red Dead Redemption 2: Original Score with added musical score and orchestration provided by the aforementioned Stetson, guitarist-vocalist Matt Sweeney, multi-instrumentalist Gabe Witcher, experimental band Senyawa, multi-instrumentalist David Ralicke, composer Mario Batkovic, engineer-mixer David Ferguson, guitarist-songwriter-producer Luke O’Malley, and DJ-producer Rabih Beaini.

Contributions to the album have been made by over 110 artists including musician-songwriter Michael Shuman, singer-songwriter Arca, drummer Jon Theodore, and guitarist Duane Eddy.

Companion album The Music of Red Dead Redemption: Original Soundtrack was released earlier this month, featuring exclusive original music with vocal performances from D’Angelo, Rhiannon Giddens, Willie Nelson, Josh Homme, and an additional track written, produced, and performed by David Ferguson. The Music of Red Dead Redemption: Original Soundtrack is produced by Grammy Award-winner Daniel Lanois.

Developed by Rockstar Studios and published by Rockstar Games, Red Dead Redemption 2 is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
