A new promotional trailer for upcoming satirical-adventure game Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love has been released, featuring a few words from the composer of the game’s main theme, Peter McConnell.
Fans may know McConnell from his compositions during the LucasArts-era of point-and-click adventure games such as Maniac Mansion II, the Monkey Island series, Sam & Max Hit the Road, and Grim Fandango.
More recently, McConnell composed the music for Grim Fandango Remastered, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Full Throttle Remastered, and numerous Hearthstone expansion packs.
Developed by Polish studio Artifex Mundi, Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love is set during a fictional Cold War and features non-linear puzzles across 21 hand-painted locations.
The game’s soundtrack, composed by McConnell and Arkadiusz Reikowski, can be heard in the latest promo trailer. It can also be purchased from Reikowski’s Bandcamp page.
Composer Reikowski specialises in video games and his credits include titles like survival-horror game Kholat, and psychological-horror games such as Layers of Fear, and Observer.
Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love is scheduled for release in Q2 2019 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux, macOS, and Windows.
