“Darksiders III was actually a really roundabout job.”

Voice actress Cissy Jones recently spoke to IGN Unfiltered and talked about how she ended up with the lead role in the upcoming hack and slash adventure game Darksiders III.

Developed by Gunfire Games, Darksiders III features Fury – one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – as the central character as she hunts down the Seven Deadly Sins.

Jones, who voices the character of Fury explained that her manager sent her an audition for a video game trailer and it was rather succinct in nature.

“… it was four words,” Jones described. “‘Hello, Brother’ [and] ‘With pleasure.’ And that was it.”

After she turned in her audition she was booked for the official announcement trailer. Seeing the positive response that the trailer got, Jones enquired about trying for the role of the lead character. After a bit of research and networking, Jones eventually went through a reaudition process because the developers wanted Fury to have a British accent, and got the part.

Jones is an award-winning voice actress who’s worked on video games such as The Walking Dead, Firewatch, and Ghostbusters.

Darksiders III is scheduled for release on 27th November for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
