Nintendo’s home console/portable hybrid system is about to get a little more musical come next Thursday.

KORG Gadget is a music production software co-developed by KORG and DETUNE. Already available for Mac and iOS devices, the Nintendo Switch release of KORG Gadget marks the return of the musical equipment manufacturer on a Nintendo platform. Previously KORG M01D and KORG DSN-12 were released on the Nintendo 3DS, while the generation before saw KORG DS-10 getting a release on the Nintendo DS.

Anyone with experience working with digital audio workstations should feel at ease with KORG Gadget’s user interface. With 16 unique synthesizer and drum instruments – one of which is Kamata (an ’80s style sound engine developed by Bandai Namco Studios) – users can experiment and create music in a solo capacity or collaborate with others in real-time.

KORG Gadget is set for release on 26th April and can only be downloaded via the Nintendo eShop for $48.00. No physical release has been scheduled.
