“It is heavily imbued with themes of loneliness, survival and hope.”

The electronica soundtrack to low-resolution, first-person shooter Reclaim Earth is available now digitally.

Reclaim Earth is set in the year 2025, five years after the planet suffered an alien attack. With less than 1% of the Earth’s population having survived on-board a space station, the time has come to mount an attack and reclaim the planet.

The game was developed by a team of three (Anthony, Chase, and James) for LOWREZJAM 2016. LOWREZJAM is an annual event in which the challenge is to create a game with a resolution of 64×64 pixels.

The EP comprises three tracks of synths and guitar riffs composed by Chase Bethea (Deity Quest, </reality>, and Aground).

The Reclaim Earth soundtrack EP is available now to purchase from Bandcamp and itch.io; the album features artwork by concept artist Laura Onderwater and the game’s logo by manovermars.

“The score was crafted to empower the player to feel as if nothing can stop them from re-taking their home world,” the album description says. “It is heavily imbued with themes of loneliness, survival and hope.”

Reclaim Earth is available for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
