Beat ’em up releasing on consoles and PC.
The theme song to the recently announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is sung by Faith No More frontman Mike Patton.
The upcoming beat ’em up game is developed by Tribute Games, the studio behind action-based releases including arena brawler Curses ‘N Chaos, 2D action game Mercenary Kings, and action-platformer Panzer Paladin.
The announcement trailer for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge (embedded below) features gameplay footage overlaid with the game’s theme song.
This latest video game adaptation of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is inspired by the 1991 beat ’em up game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time. The game utilises a pixel art style to depict the four main protagonists – Donatello, Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Raphael – using character designs influenced by the 1987 animated series.
Patton has been involved with various video games over the years, most notably being the voice actor for the eponymous entity in first-person shooter The Darkness and its sequel The Darkness II, the Anger Core in first-person puzzle game Portal, and Nathan Spencer in action-adventure game Bionic Commando.
In a short Facebook post announcing his involvement with this new title, Patton said: “Ok, the world is ready for more from the heroes in a half shell!!!!!!”
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will be released for console platforms and PC.
