Anamanaguchi performs the game’s soundtrack for the first time.

To coincide with last week’s launch of side-scrolling beat ’em up Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game – Complete Edition, chiptune band Anamanaguchi performed the game’s soundtrack on a live stream from publisher Ubisoft’s Twitch channel.

This re-release of the game which originally came out back in 2010 comprises Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game along with the Knives Chau and Wallace Wells downloadable content add-on packs.

The full stream can be viewed on the Ubisoft Twitch channel which includes interviews with Anamanaguchi as well as the creator of the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series Bryan Lee O’Malley.

The soundtrack performance has been clipped (embedded below) and uploaded to the Anamanaguchi YouTube channel.

The band also took part in a Q&A interview which has been published on the PlayStation Blog; topics include favourite playable characters, tracks that best represent the band’s sound, and how the band’s musical style gelled with the game’s vibe.

Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game – Complete Edition is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows, and Stadia.

In related news, the game’s soundtrack is getting a special vinyl release through Limited Run Games with pre-orders remaining open for a limited time.
