Pre-orders available from Wayô Records.

Wayô Records has announced that the ActRaiser soundtrack and symphonic suite will be releasing on CD and vinyl in limited quantities.

ActRaiser is a 1990 platformer with city-building mechanics developed by Quintet and released for Super Nintendo.

The game’s soundtrack, composed by Yuzo Koshiro (Streets of Rage and Etrian Odyssey), was released on CD back in 1991 but has since been out of print.

This new ActRaiser Original Soundtrack & Symphonic Suite collection will be getting a 2-CD and 2xLP release. The double-CD variant contains the original soundtrack along with never-before-heard unused tracks on one disc and a 2018 Ancient Festival symphonic suite performance by the New Japan BGM Philharmonic Orchestra on the other.

The double-vinyl edition comprises the original soundtrack with the aforementioned symphonic suite performance remastered by Shinji Hosoe (Ridge Racer and Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors) along with new illustrations by graphic artist Ayano Koshiro (ActRaiser and Sonic the Hedgehog).

ActRaiser was released 30 years ago and remains an intemporal classic,” said Wayô Records producer Jonathan Khersis via a press release. “The game was a true revolution thanks to its amazing soundtrack that showed an impressive use of the Super Famicom sound chip. 30 years later, it is still acclaimed as one of Koshiro’s most renowned works.”

Pre-orders for the CD and vinyl variants are available now from the Wayô Records online store (product pages include full tracklistings); the 41-track double-CD edition will ship in January 2021 whereas the 28-track double-vinyl variant is expected to ship in March 2021.

“To celebrate this anniversary, we have summoned the ‘Master,’ and he’s back with divine announcements! We are excited to release the legendary ActRaiser Original Soundtrack with the newly orchestrated version in these luxurious remastered CD and vinyl editions, entirely illustrated by Ayano Koshiro!” Khersis added.
