Production company iam8bit has announced it will be debuting several collectible items at PAX East 2020, among them a couple of video game soundtracks.
The video game expo is taking place between 27th February – 1st March in Boston, Massachusetts.
Attendees who visit the Indie MEGABOOTH (Booth #21041) will be able to purchase the soundtrack to platformer Gimmick! (also known as Mr. Gimmick) on CD and the soundtrack to multi-genre arcade game 198X on 2xLP vinyl.
Gimmick! was originally released back in 1992 in Japan for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The soundtrack, composed by saxophonist Masashi Kageyama, has been remastered for CD and the album features artwork by Gabe Swarr. The Gimmick! soundtrack CD also comes with a double-sided poster.
A red unisex Gimmick! T-shirt made of 100% ring-spun cotton will also be on sale at the booth.
The other video game soundtrack is the 198X double-vinyl album. The music from 198X – composed by Yuzo Koshiro, Anton Dromberg & Daniel Rosenqvist, and U.F.L. – has been pressed on two 180g coloured vinyl discs: one pink and the other black. This vinyl release is a limited edition with only 500 copies available; the album features artwork by Waneella.
After PAX East is over, the Gimmick! CD and T-shirt as well as the 198X soundtrack vinyl will be available for purchase from the iam8bit website from 5th March onwards.
