More electronic and orchestral sounds from composer Dale North and piano arrangements from AYAKI.

To coincide with the recent release of the Thundering Keep downloadable content update for roguelike action-adventure game Wizard of Legend, music label Scarlet Moon Records has released a complete soundtrack of the game as well as an album of piano arrangements.

This complete soundtrack differs slightly to the original soundtrack released back in 2018. This new release contains three additional tracks: “Blinded by Night (Lightning)”, “Seer’s Siren”, and “Sorcerer’s Snarl”, the latter two were featured on the Sky Palace and Thundering Keep DLC trailers, respectively.

“While I had a good feeling early on, I didn’t really know that the music I was writing would be for a smash hit video game,” said composer Dale North via a press release. “So it has been a pleasure to be able to continue to contribute music to Wizard of Legend over the past year since the initial launch and now I’m just as thrilled to be able to share them in a complete album.”

The Wizard of Legend complete soundtrack is available now from North’s Bandcamp page.

“Just as the new dungeons and bosses have expanded the game’s world, I hope these new pieces add more depth and enjoyment to players and listeners alike,” North added.

Pianist AKAKI, perhaps best known for performing on the Etrian Odyssey and Persona Q soundtracks as well as the Prescription for Sleep albums from Scarlet Moon Records, has also released a 12-track arrangement album.

Aside from piano reinterpretations of the original Wizard of Legend soundtrack, there’s also an original track called “Realizing One’s Potential” which is inspired by the in-game Chaos Trials.

“AYAKI’s arrangements and performances of the Wizard of Legend soundtrack feel like a deep dive into the [spirit] of what I was going for when I originally composed it,” North explained.

“These powerful, interpretive pieces have a way of transporting you and I feel like anyone that has spent any time in the dungeons will feel that,” he said. “It’s rare to feel so heard and understood as a music maker anyway, but when it’s coming from such a talented and accomplished musician it makes this so much more special.”

The Piano Collections is out now on North’s Bandcamp page. Both albums will also be available from other digital outlets in the coming days.

Wizard of Legend is developed by indie team Contingent99 and is available for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Linux, macOS, and Windows.
