The downloadable content update for Rock Band 4 this week includes a track by British power metal band DragonForce and another by American singer-songwriter Steve Vai.

The following tracks will be available from 26th September:

  • DragonForce – “Highway to Oblivion” *
  • Steve Vai – “For the Love of God (Live)”

*Part of the Rock Band Rivals Season 13 Spotlight Pass.

Tracks can be purchased individually.

The descriptions below are taken from this week’s release notes:

Fan favorite DragonForce is back! Following the debut of “Highway to Oblivion” in our rhythm VR shooter Audica, the song makes its way to Rock Band just in time for the release of Extreme Power Metal. Even the best among us will have to practice this guitar, as you’ll be faced with many, many solos played at blistering DragonForce speed. Try to fail quietly so the singer can focus on belting out fantasy-infused lyrics with reckless abandon.

Steve Vai is one of the most accomplished guitar virtuosos in rock, starting his career working with Frank Zappa, dozens of guest appearances in the decades since, and multiple Grammy Awards under his belt. “For the Love of God (Live)” comes from Where the Wild Things Are, recorded in Minneapolis during the Sound Theories tour. Unsurprisingly, this instrumental is all about guitar. A long solo filled with sweeping demands consistency to get past it.

Developed and published by Harmonix, Rock Band 4 is available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
