The descriptions below are taken from this week’s release notes:
Dimmu Borgir’s single “The Serpentine Offering” is a heavyweight thriller joining the RB4 library this week. This track opens the band’s eighth studio album In Sorte Diaboli, which received ample acclaim. The album reached #1 on the Norwegian Album chart and #2 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums chart. “The Serpentine Offering” features instrumental and vocal lines that fit together like a puzzle. Bass and guitar parts tie together a variety of shifting styles, and drum patterns will push you to your limit with extremely fast passages. Vocals will also be a challenge, with techniques ranging from sinister growls to clear melodic phrases. Although putting the pieces together may be challenging, the reward of performing this intricate puzzle with your band is well worth it.
The Strumbellas’ single “Salvation” is also joining the DLC catalog soon. “Salvation”, from their fourth studio album Rattlesnake, quickly reached the top 25 of the Billboard Alternative Songs chart and became an instant fan favorite. The song boasts hopeful vocal lines with plenty of harmony and backing parts to keep you singing along. Although vocals shine in this song, the drum and guitar lines are never boring, with segments perfectly crafted to fit the overall mood.
