From the composer of Remember Me and Vampyr.
The story-driven wartime adventure game 11-11: Memories Retold is due to launch later this week and the soundtrack is available now ahead of the game’s release.
Co-developed by Aardman Animations and DigixArt, 11-11: Memories Retold is set during World War I and features two main characters whose paths cross as one heads to Europe to join the Western Front while the other searches for his missing son.
The two protagonists, portrayed by Elijah Wood and Sebastian Koch, come from different backgrounds but will both face important decisions in their lives.
Soundtrack composer Olivier Derivière scored the game with performances by the Phiharmonia Orchestra and vocals by the Pinewood Singers.
“11-11: Memories Retold was a unique opportunity for me to explore my classical background and create a soundtrack that flows like a ballet,” Derivière explained.
Noting the game’s art style that Aardman and DigixArt had created allowed for the writing of Impressionist music influenced by early 20th Century French composers, Derivière added:
“As the story takes place during World War I, it was a real honor to compose meaningful and deeply respectful lyrics that reflect the pacifism of the subject matter. I am very grateful for my collaboration with the teams at Aardman and DigixArt that inspired me to make the music as if it was another character in the game, telling us the story on its own.”
The soundtrack to 11-11: Memories Retold is available now from Bandcamp and other digital services.
The game will be released on 9th November for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
