A dynamic score composed by Woody Jackson.

Open-world action-adventure game Red Dead Redemption 2 is out and developer Rockstar Games has detailed some of the musical collaborations that went into creating the game’s soundtrack and score.

Red Dead Redemption 2 features an interactive, dynamic score that’s composed by Woody Jackson. Jackson has a history of composing titles from Rockstar Games including the first Red Dead Redemption and its DLC pack Undead Nightmare, L.A. Noire, Grand Theft Auto V and its online components Heists and Lowriders.

The score has additional production and arrangements by Jeff Silverman, with additional scoring and orchestration from Colin Stetson, David Ferguson, David Ralicke, Gabe Witcher, Mario Batkovic, Matt Sweeney, Rabih Beaini, and traditional Indonesian music outfit Senyawa.

Grammy Award-winner Daniel Lanois – producer of albums for musicians such as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Willie Nelson – has produced all of the vocal moments in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Aside from his production, the game also features additional vocal performances from artists including Nas, D’Angelo, Willie Nelson, Josh Homme, Rhiannon Giddens, and a track written, produced, and performed by Ferguson.

All the songs in Red Dead Redemption 2 were written exclusively for the game’s score and soundtrack. The game’s official soundtrack will eventually be released.
